I have a Sony Vaio 15.4" laptop with Windows Vista. I have a 22" Samsung monitor at the office, and a 19" Samsung monitor at home.
For the past few months I've been playing the "guess how Vista will configure my dual monitors when I plug them in this time?" game. Nevermind that it can't remember my monitor placement whenever I close my laptop's lid... that seems like a luxury now. No, Vista somehow manages to find new and exciting combinations for my monitors every time, some of which I didn't even know were possible.
Yesterday and today were some of the best. Yesterday's looked something like this:

Doesn't look TOO bad, right? Well, except in reality my 22" is, strangely enough, not physically below my laptop. Took me a while to figure out where the 22" was and how to move the mouse cursor to it.
Today? Today was a bit more traditional: the good old "random resolution" game:

But, of course, Vista put in a twist: the taskbar is, for some reason, on the secondary monitor - once again, a first. Fiddling with the monitor settings hasn't managed to bring it back to the laptop screen, where it belongs.
Thus unfolds my exciting life. Make no mistake, this is not annoying in any way, and do not confuse my levity for sarcasm! This is an exciting adventure, which I shall chronicle on this blog.
